NEXT STEPS
1. Become a Christian
Our Mission: Building Everyday People into Everyday Missionaries for Jesus Christ.
The first and greatest step in this journey is making a commitment to say "yes" to Jesus. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31).
This first step will lead to everyday rhythms of an everyday walk with God. Investing your life upward in relationship with God is step one.
2. Choose a Community
Our Vision: We will become a multi-cultural, multiplying, movement of disciples who love and serve their neighbors as they become like Jesus Christ.
Step two means moving towards Body of Christ relationships - which is finding connection in a community. Join other believers in a small group, discussing life and relationships, which will encourage you to listen to what God is calling you towards. Community grows us together which results in new disciples. We have multiple community groups you can get involved with: Sunday school, neighborhood networks, etc.
3. Serve the mission
Everyday missionaries are those who love God with their whole hearts, are being transformed together by the love of Jesus, and are sent by the Spirit to love others in places where they live, work, and play.
This is step three: serving people inside and outside the Body of Christ. Everyone has a calling- God has given spiritual gifts to everyone to share with the world. “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-13).
When we serve the mission, every area of life is brought into full rhythm with God: families, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and each walk of life. We have multiple service opportunities both inside and outside: music, children, youth, hospitality (usher, greeter, etc.), Mission Oak Cliff, worship, Sunday school, neighborhood networks, etc.
4. Bring a friend
As we journey together in the faith, it’s vital to invite others into this same journey.
Please be praying about who you know that you need to invite to join us on mission here at Cliff Temple.
5. Give generously
Giving to His Kingdom work is another next step as a follower of Christ.
We grow when we give of our time, talents, and resources. “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
As a Christian, let your lifestyle be marked by giving generously to support God’s work in the world. Starting locally, you may do that by donating to Cliff Temple’s general ministry budget and Great Expectations Capital Campaign.
